Senior Java Developer

RARo is looking for a talented and highly motivated and experienced Senior Java Developer to be part of our newly founded team. The successful candidate should have a deep understanding and real-world experience developing and maintaining Java based projects.

The role requires taking initiative and provides high visibility and opportunity to work on various projects with external customers. The candidate must work well with a team of people who are committed to growing a company at a high speed.

• Designs, implements and maintains Java applications
• Navigates through a large complex codebase
• Contributes in all phases of the development lifecycle
• Cooperates with the Quality Assurance team to drive a quality first approach to delivery
• Writes well-designed, efficient, and testable code
• Conducts software analysis, programming, testing and debugging
• Communicates issues and technical roadblocks effectively
• Manages Java and Java EE application development
• Collaborates with other team members to investigate design approaches, prototypes new technology and evaluates technical feasibility
• Executes projects and develop against an outlined design
• Prepares and produces releases of software components
• Transforms requirements into stipulations
• Supports continuous improvement

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree – preferably in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years of software development experience in Java
• Strong hands-on delivery track record
• Experience with database usage and management
• Good exposure to computational concepts
• Firm understanding of software development principles
• Experience of Working with a multi-region team and understanding of the Financial Services and Risk domain

• Microservice Architecture

• Proficiency in English, German is an strong advantage
